Lisa's Big Adventure
Hay-on-Wye and driving through Wales
We arrived in Hay-on-Wye late in the afternoon and found a B&B to stay at before on the advice of the owner venturing back into town. Hay-on-Wye is the second hand book capital of the world so as you can imagine, I was in heaven. Basically it was a whole street or 2 of book stores. We amused ourselves in them for a few hours until they shut at 7pm before going and finding some dinner. It was so cold and I thoroughly enjoyed the celery soup - which was since it was the only decent thing on the menu at the pub we went to! When we got back out of the car at the B&B at 8pm, the temperature was down to 1 degree!
The next morning Mum and I headed back into Hay-on-Wye, leaving Dad to pack up the car so I could browse though some more book stores and so Mum could check out the little craft shops.
Hay-on-Wye is a lovely quaint little town and I could definitely have spent more time here just wandering around and soaking up the tranquillity of the place. But of course, we had to keep moving.
We spent the remainder of the day driving through the lovely green Welsh countryside before stopping in Chester briefly so I could see the Roman wall, and then arriving in Liverpool that night.
