Lisa's Big Adventure
Sedona
After missing my hot air balloon ride due to illness, we drove on towards the Grand Canyon.
The main stop for the day was in the town of Sedona, famous for its art and craft shops and the amazing red rock formations. The rock was stunning and I imagined that it was a much smaller version of Ayres Rock. Sedona itself was a lovely little Navaho town and because I still wasn't feeling well, I went wandering in and out of the stores while the rest of the group went on a jeep ride out to the rock. The art was beautiful and some of the native jewellery stunning. It is somewhere if I had more time and money I would like to go back to.
We left Sedona after lunch travelled for another few hours in the bus to the Grand Canyon. Arriving there late afternoon, we took in an imax screening of the canyon which was spectacular. And then we went for our first look of the Canyon. The sun had just set so the canyon was slowly darkening. Even in the shadows, it was obvious that it was stunning.
The night was spend in rustic cabins near the lodge, a few minutes walk from the rim of the canyon. After dinner, I retired to bed.
