Day 27- 4th Feb - Heading to Lake Taupo today, more coach action and bit of a busy day! Me and Vix are going for some action today and doing a rope climbing course activity called ëRock and Ropesí. Basically this was a series of rope courses suspended off the ground about 30ft up! We had a really crazy outdoors guy training us and taking us through what to do, basically he just told us to get on with it if we were scared no sympathy! The look of the course was soo daunting it was really high up and most of them involved walking across high wires of some sort. The first one that we did was the free walk across a log, which we had to walk across with nothing to hold on to and then walk backwards on the way back!! So scary but we did it, I was very impressed by both of us! Although the scariest bit was probably the climb up the post to get to the top, but once we did the first one we were naturals! Next we did was the Trapeze, we had to jump off the top of a wooden post and catch the trapeze bar! We all managed to grab it but not hold on for long enough so fun though we did it twice! Note this was higher too, at 40ft. Did a couple of others, but got ridiculously tired from all the climbing so finished after we did the biggest one which was the 50ft Swing, but their was no time to think or get scared as Glen (scary outdoors guy) pushed us off after a few seconds. After this energetic activity we went and had a walk around Taupo and then back to the hotel to get ready for the fancy dress boat cruise that night. Theme beachwear so the 3 of us went as lifeguards (luckily we had brought some cheap lifeguard t-shirts in San Diego as PJ tops). Pretty funny night, got to know a few more people from tour on the cruise and went into some bars after.
