Day 31 - 8th feb - Another driving day, quite excited about the next few days as we get to do some of the main activities of the trip. today we drove towards the township of Franz Josef. although it was a long day of driving, the route that we had taken was so beautiful, we drove through mountain ranges, surrounded by picturesque views and lots of hills and greenery! the route drove also was included in the filming of Narnia and Lord of the Rings (as we keep being told, they love that film over here). Finally got to our accomodation which was in a really cute little Rainforest retreat. Franz Josef is a tiny little town right by the mountains and glaciers. Afternoon we just had a walk around the town. the evening we had another meal with everyone on the tour, had our first bit of NZ lamb. Nice to have a quiet night just chatting to more of the people on tour, we even learnt danish at dinner!
