We made it! Our first night in London wasn't necessarily the safest (sorry, family) but we survived with no hassles other than the horrifically delayed bus and no sleeping arrangement. Not having a clue where we were and no information stations open, and no maps, we flagged a cab and asked where the nearest all night cafe was. The nice man brought us to a hostel first (no luck) then the cafe (much luck) where we ate and drank coffee until around 3am or so.
We ended up talking to some businessmen Brits that ended up putting our food on their business credit card which was lovely of them. We were ridiculously out of place in hiking clothes and massive backpacks... This all night cafe was very posh (but inexpensive... Strange) After that, we headed back to the bus station and just sat around until the desks reopened.
Unfortunately we were not able to complain at the mega bus desk, but they gave us the customer service number... We are going to try our damndest to get a refund for the bus ride from hell.
We then figured out the underground system and how to get to our hostel... It's amazing looking! We can't officially check in until 2pm (3.5 more hours) but they're letting us shower and store our luggage :) :) people are very nice here so far!!! We both have colds, but the weather here is much warmer so hopefully they clear up soon!
Day plan: explore the Swiss Cottage area and then probably take much needed naps in our romantic shared double bed (don't judge, it's way cheaper this way)
That's all I have for now! :) I'll keep ya posted on the intense adventures we're coming across! London until the 5th, bright and early Chunnel!!
Picture count: 482... There wasn't much to see on the bus or late night London
