Lisa and Simon`s Around the World Tour
Have been in Cuzco, what was the capital of the Inca Empire, on and off for almost a week, but have left to go to the jungle and to do the Inca Trail.
A truly beautiful City. Full of tourists and backpackers, but a few too many American college kids for my liking though. Still, due to the numbers, certainly plenty to keep us entertained at night. Loads to do during the day, but really only had any serious time here after the Inca Trail though. Managed to check out the main museums (surprisingly fascinating) and churches (big). Found a place selling shepherds pie and veg (a luxury). Local delicacies are Llama (pretty good) and guinea pig (no thanks).
Lisa booked in for an hours massage to sooth her aching limbs after the hike. Given by a bloke though, so glad I didnt go for one. Instead, I went white water rafting along the River Urubamba through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Good fun, spectacular scenery.
Leaving Cuzco for a short flight (luxury after all the gruelling bus journeys) to the Colonial City of Arequipa.
