Hello all! Time for another update!

I really liked Samui. I'd heard mixed things about it from other travellers but I still had a really good time. I suppose it helped that I had two people who lived there to show me around. On the first day Nick didn't have any school so he & Andy took me across the island to see some temples & some waterfalls & other sights which was cool.

The second day I went on a trip to Angthong National Park which was still really beautiful despite the weather. It is where The Beach is set. It was actually filmed on Phi Phi but according to the book & the map it's in a secluded lagoon that is part of Angthong. I was chilling on the beach when a Thai man ran up to me & told me we had to run because the storm was coming. I thought yeah right it can't be that bad but looked up & watched it hit the other end of the island so we all started legging it for cover. Then we had to get back on the boat to go back to main Samui but the weather was so bad it took twice as long. The boat was swaying lots & the waves were coming up over the boat & actually broke a perspex window. We were on a big boat but it was actually jumping the waves the way a speedboat would. I thought it was great, really funny. Others didn't though, everyone was being sick & crying & a woman had a panic attack. It was so bad the crew ran out of sick bags, people were fainting & everything. It was chaos. I've obviously got good sea-legs.

The next day I said bye to Nick & made my way to Patong, Phuket. It's not very nice here, lots & lots of sex tourism & it's really in your face. I've definitely come to the wrong part of the island! It wasn't all bad though, I bumped into some Brazilian lads that I'd met on Koh Tao & so I was hanging around with them. There's not much to do & we were bored. We were going to go go-karting but it was a bit expensive so we went to see a ping pong show. When in Rome & all that. I thought it was rubbish actually though she did do something interesting with a mouse! Then we just partied in the hotel room.

I think I will head for Phi Phi tomorrow & do some relaxing. It's still a bit overcast, I hope it clears up soon, my tan needs topping up ha ha!
