The drive back to Monte Carlo was like no other being mainly on the French motorway with their crazy antiquated toll booths. The next day was supposed to right a previous wrong for us. A loop from Lo rgues would include the spectacular Grand Canyon de Verdon which we missed last time we were in the region. After a good start rain tried to spoil our fun but Guide Torstem kept up a fair old clip with suitable warnings about reduced grip, the need to complete braking before the bend and to use acceleration more judiciously. We were reluctant leavers of the Chateau St Martin even with the prospect of more spirited driving. This time we swapped to a new Boxster S also with PDK. The tour proper started today. We were greeted with a lineup of 12 new Porsches, parked proudly outside the hotel in Casino Square, 10 for the tourists and 2 for the quides. For the Porsche folk amongst you the cars were mainly new series 991 911's with a few 981 Boxsters and some 997 C4's.
