I've finally arrived in Darwin and it's boiling hot. I'm not so much Dorothy in Oz but the witch, because when I walk down the street "I'm melting, i'm melting"! Seriously though its bloody roasting, more so than California and you need lots of water and lots of bug spray.
So far i've held a gorgeous baby joey called Banjo, been to Lichfield National Park and swam in gorgeous waterfall called Florence Falls. Also been to Kakadu National Park and learned all about the Aboriginal lands, fascinating stuff.
Seen lots of wildlife including those crocodiles, wallabies and even at the hotel. No messing there are about 3 toads that wait outside your room every nights, swarms of mossies, cockroaches, huge dragon flies and lizards. Yes, lizards, also called quecos, that poo on your bed in the middle of the night, or in my case 2 inches from my pillow. Lovely!!
The cockatoos are beautfiul flying in the wild. I had one when I was little, but never again after seeing them like this. They are untamed, wild and loud and not to be kept in a cage, however gilded. Just like me :o)
