Well what a first day in Vienna it's been. Never in my wildest dreams when I was a young girl watching enraptured the Lipizzanas on TV that I would ever see them in the flesh. I then saw them for the first time about 20 years ago in the NEC with Rob and Diana, although I probably missed half the performance as I was having difficulty seeing through the tears. Lol. After that we were fortunate enough to see them twice more in London and Birmingham. Today was the icing on the cake as we walked through Vienna and came to the baroque Winter Riding School at Hofburg Palace, built under Charles VI. Yet again I am moved to tears, I just cannot find the words to express the sheer beauty that I was surrounded by! My non horsey friends won't understand the emotion I'm feeling as I go on a guided tour through the stables and see the majestic stallions in their palatial home. This is definitely one of the highlights of my life!
