Having spent the last few days back in Surfers Paradise I am still so in love with the place. I thought maybe after coming back that it wouldnt be the same as the first time but it feels even better....The sun has shone so much and there hasnt been a cloud in the sky for the last few days...I'm in a completely blissful state right now and it feels sooo good.....
Anyway, if I remember rightly rightly I left you half way through my 5 days in Sydney....After that night partying with the girls it was up and out to Newtown - a very cool and very relaxed place. I had stayed in Newtown that night so after a short stroll to the cafes and shops it was was time for a coffee break....yummm Im so in love with Mocha Frappes at the moment. They just seem to go down so well in the mid morning sun. The afternoon I just spent chilling out on the hostel roof with some friends. It was nice to have a few hours of nothing but laying. Even having actually made it to bed the night before I was still exhausted. The chilling out didnt last long as it was time for the free BBQ - the word free rings bells in every backpapers mind. The feeling is like walking down the stairs on Christmas day and seeing lots of presents - excited and very very happy! Food was good and then it was time to take and early evening stroll and sit in a lovely roadside cafe for coffee and sorbet. I swear Im living a dream life at the moment....it was not long until we were called out to meet on Oxford Street for some partying in a bar called Stonewalls - nice cheesy music and fairly priced drinks - I like! It wasnt a late one this time and it was off to catch 40 winks before my flight the next day to the coast. I couldnt resist having one more breakfast before I left so it was off to a nice cafe with Tina for some much needed food. I had a craving for smoked salmon, a luxury for a traveller but sometimes its got to be done....and guess what?! First cafe had just that for me - yaya!! Soon it was time to head to the airport and its now getting on my nerves having to carry my life around with me on my back. Lucky for me I have managed to leave some clothes in Sydney until I come back - my bag now weighs just under 20Kg - still heavy for little old me! Almost couldnt get onto my flight as my stomach decided it didnt like the smoked salmon and decided to bring it back up - NICE!!!
There you have it, the end to my week in Sydney. Im sure more happened but its been about 3 days now since I left and Surfers has an effect on me. It makes me feel so calm and relaxed that the hectic state of last week feels like a million miles away. I haven't done much since being here apart from relax on the beach and spend some time alone (Charli and the gang left Sydney for Brisbane but I came straight here). I had a rather exciting morning yesterday but I'm afraid you will have to wait until I have some pictures - but trust me, your going to want to see these!! Last night was nice and chilled out. I went over to a friends place and we just had a few drinks and watched a DVD. It sounds so normal to do that but after spending about 5 weeks travelling around and getting up to alsorts every day and night it was nice to have somewhere homely to go and be with freinds.
Its about 8.40pm here so the night is still very young. The gang have turned up (Charli, Bex, Lotta & Gabi) so I think tonight is going to be a mad one. My washing is on the line drying and the shower is calling me.....Love to you all and I will be back soon with some more stories and hopefully some new photos....xxxxx
