My 4 day stay in Queenstown has been great. A few people from my bus are staying there a few months and getting jobs and people you know from earlier on arrive so it's just like a huge reunion!
The plan was to chill out by the lake each day and go out at night but the weather has turned and is too grotty! :( We went to the Luge one day (which is a massive go cart type thing at the top of a hill) and as soon as we'd started the heavens opened and I mean opened. You can't stop once you've started and it's all on the open air so we just got completely drenched. I was driving about 5 miles an our being overtaken my everyone else but I don't know how they did it! I couldn't even control the thing at my granny speed! Spen the other days shopping and at some funky indoor mini golf place where your ball takes gondola trips, goes down a ski slope etc - really clever but still would rather have been sunbathing!
We went out most nights and had such a good time, one night the whole city had a power cut at about 1am and for some reason everyone thought it was great. It felt like a xmas or new years night - people singing on the street. Me and Kelly got back to our room and then decided we weren't ready for bed yet so walked the entire town in search of a bar with a generator which we were sure would exist, it didn't but by the time we got back the club next to our hostel had lit lots of candles and had re-opened. People were singing on the bar and we had Kellys mobile out and bopped along to some tunes! Was all good fun. Then the lights came back on and it wasn't so much fun anymore so we went home!
