Well this is my last update from Japanland! Can;t believe the 2 weeks are up...it's gone so fast! We've done so much and it's been good to have the BTDC back together!
Well we have been to Nikko to see the shrines and we also saw some snow capped mountains! We saw the 'hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil' monkeys and I saw one of those pointy hats I want but will hopefully see one in Thailand cos I don't want to carry it about!
We went to have dinner Japanese style at Raph's which was hilarious even though it shouldn't have been!
On Saturday we went into the centre of Tokyo and it's much more like how I expected Japan to be there, loads of really tall buildings and people everywhere. We went to Roppongi and some weird bar that was converted froma train carriage, and then to meet Art's American friend whose bday it was, and some Japanese girl who brought about 20 friends with her. That was weird, we didn't stay long!!!
We went back to Asakusa and tried out a new place with the Americans and I had beef that was barely cooked, just enough to get rid of the blood, it was actually quite nice! They also had these amazing light up coasters!
Monday we went to Omiya and went around the shops, they don't have shops like we do though, they are all really small and they greet you when you enter...me and Brett have a new favourite shop...the Loft and we got hats that are amazing!
Yesterday we went to the zoo in the town next to where Art is and saw some elephants and other zooey type animals!
Today we are just packing and heading to the airport about 3ish for another mammoth journey! This one is 3 seperate flights so will take even longer than it took to get here! We are going to visit our favourite Japanese lady and buy a cheesedog one last time first though!
I don't think we would have come to Japan if Art hadn't been here but am so glad we did, it's totally not how I expected it and will be the place where we get stared at the most and are noveltys! People literally point, laugh and shout 'foreigners' when we walk past! I'm getting used to the attention...! Cheers Arthur, I've had a truely 'QUALITY' time, you have (somewhat surprisingly!!!) made an excellent host and tour guide and it's been so nice to see you again, you'll be fluent in Japanese in no time!!!!
Anyway that's it from Japan...Bring on New Zealand!!!
