We arrived at our townhome in Laguna Vista, Texas, on November 20th. It's a lovely 3 bedroom home that is on the lagoon/bay, just across from South Padre Island. Fish jump and pelicans float by - it's very peaceful until a seagull starts pestering a pelican. Pelicans have the loudest squack ever! We have been camping at a county park on South Padre Island for 6 days now. The first couple of days it was coldish and overcast. That cold front passed and it has gotten warm and beautiful. Weather is about 75 degrees during the day and 60 overnight (25 celsius down to about 15 celsius). On the east side of the island is the Gulf of Mexico. It has a beautiful long sandy beach; people are walking or jogging the beach, paddle boarding and fishing. Loving it! ...

After leaving Magnolia Beach on the 3rd we drove down to Padre Island, just off of Corpus Christi. There is a national park with 60 miles of sandy beach - really beautiful with blue water and powdery sand. We paid $20 for 1 week and we were able to go into the park and camp on the beach. Where are we now?! Good grief we've been moving around. After leaving El Paso we stayed 1 night at Scheiner City Park. It's unbelievable that they allow you to pull up and stay over night in a city park. No homeless issues there! We loaded up and headed out for Galveston yesterday morning. As you can see in some of the pictures we ditched the whole camping in a tent idea and purchased a small travel trailer. She is a Palomini by Forest River; is about 18 ft long and has one tip out. The best part is that she's lightweight so we are able to tow her fairly easily behind my SUV.
