We arrived at our townhome in Laguna Vista, Texas, on November 20th. It's a lovely 3 bedroom home that is on the lagoon/bay, just across from South Padre Island. Fish jump and pelicans float by - it's very peaceful until a seagull starts pestering a pelican. Pelicans have the loudest squack ever!
The weather is consistently in the high 60s to mid 70s with a breeze blowing. Some days it's a stronger breeze but it's always appreciated. Paul heads for the pool almost daily and occassionally I join him. He insists on throwing balls at me whenever I get in the water. Catch he calls it. I call it getting my hair wet. Why can't we just float in the pool?
Across the road from the townhome is a church that we are attending on Sundays. One interesting thing they do is they have a prayer where they say "God Bless America and God Bless Texas". The whole church joins in on the last part of that. We think it's great and join in as well.
My sister and husband (Ruby & Simon) came to visit for 4 days. Thanks Ruby & Simon! We went fishing on the beach, had dinner at a bayside restaurant and enjoyed some great time together!
We are here until the end of December unless Galveston finishes up before then, in which case we will head back up that way. Otherwise December 31st we will be making our way back north stopping in Laughlin, Nevada for a few weeks. They have a RV park at one of the casino resorts with really low rates and you get to use the resort amenities. Yes we are coming back earlier than planned - we miss our kids and grandkids too much. Thanks Steph & Jon for letting us come and stay in your basement suite again!
