Left Santiago today for Valiparaso which was only a two hour journey by comfortable bus, and thus I missed the scencery as I slept the whole way. South America was an unknown for us, as neither Em or I had heard anything of the continent really. Other than what I had read as an infant in National Geographic.

As it has turned out South America, on first impressions, is much more like Europe than Asia. Chile has splendid infrastructure, relatively clean streets and great old colonial buildings which are so impressive.

Anyway its late and we are talking to people in the backpackers and I feel rude on the computer. So I will do more later.
