Verona! What to say! First off, our hostel was brilliant! We awoke to a tree filled estate, straight out of Romeo and Juliet, with original frescos from the 1600s still on the wall. Next, we set off for fair Verona's walls. We followed a blue sign directing us to Verona soon after getting on the Autostrade (freeway) and immediately were going through town, after town, after town.  This time, we turned around so we could figure out what we were doing wrong.  Our problem was following the city names instead of the colors (green is freeway, blue is regional through route).  Once we figured that out, we got back onto the autos...
