Rain. We had a few more little villages that we wanted to visit but we knew we wouldn't enjoy them in the rain, so we had a family discussion and settled on Florence as our destination with the hope that the rain would let up 50 km away. It didn't. We got to Florence in the pouring rain with no indication of a break in the weather. We slept in until 9:00 am this morning! For Barry and Margaret, this was a rare occurrence. It rained last night, so we awoke to a view that was exactly the same but with a little less heat going on. Barry went out to take pictures and was surprised when he stepped off the road and sank into mud in an area that looked just as dry as the day before.
