Goodbye New Zealand - We have had an absolute blast, so many great experiences and have met so many amazing people!
A welcome goodbye to Auckland has arrived today after a terrible nights sleep with the animals (staff of the hostel in our room). Char looked up at Matt during the night to see his bed swaying with the intense snore of the beast that lay beneath him. It was Bad. We made a joint decision to move our sheets and pillows to the sofas of the communal area. This was a good decision until we found they were crawling. We retreated back to the dorm. At another attempt to get back to sleep Char wanted the iPod off Matt (who was on the top bunk at the other side of the room). In outright elegance the iPod that he threw to Char glided across the room towards her. In the darkness, Char was struggling especially with no glasses, a huge thud could be heard as it smashed her in the forehead. This sent us both into hysteric laughter for a while. Once the sun came up we headed for the airport, even though it was 7 hours early, the thought of being on the move again was amazing and the hostel was sucking out our souls.
Surprisingly the day went really quick and in no time we had watched two films, eaten lots of food and were in Melbourne. Back to the country where the one dollar coins are bigger than the two dollar coins. Bizarre, plus it really annoys Matt. Who ever made that decision needs a bullet.
A nice quiet dorm room would have being the best gift at this point (10pm), rather than yet another pit full of perspiring males. The gods must have been on our side as there weren't enough clean beds in the room and with a quick trip to reception we were chilling in our own private four bed dorm. Phew! We got the impression that due to our looming complimentary night tomorrow are names were marked as "the complainers" and all the stops were being pulled out to make sure we had a good time.
