This morning was spent starving ourselves for the self-induced food coma we were going to enter later on in the afternoon at ZAbb-E-Lee Thai Cooking School.
We entered the class with our favourite dishes in mind and we were not disappointed. First stop was the market to learn about the different ingredients that we would be using and what we could substitute them with in England. Then we headed straight for the chopping boards. Our chosen dishes were:
* Spring Rolls
* Papaya Salad
* Tom Yum Kung Soup
* Coconut Soup
* Pad Thai Gai
* Chicken & Cashew Nuts
* Red Curry Paste & Curry
* Masaman Curry Paste & Curry
With a group of 10, we all picked 5 dishes each but we were able to watch how to make each other's which was a bonus. The teacher, Fon, had a great Thai to English sense of humour but our favourite joke of hers when telling us the order of which to put the ingredients in the wok was "Chicken goes before the egg....now you have the answer!" The class was packed with such gems.
And if we do say so ourselves....our Thai cooking is awesome! We might even open a restaurant on Halton parade....everybody else seems to!
