Nervous Turkey!
An outing to the Sunday Markets of Kota Kinabalu turned into a very disappointing venture. We arrived at midday as we were in able to find out the start/ finish time so this seemed logical. But upon finding Gaya Street where they are held, it soon became clear that everyone was packing up for the day. Nonetheless we still managed to get a glimpse of what was on offer...... Every other store trying to sell the same stuff. This seems to be a common occurrence in Asia and there are 20 stalls all selling the same product for the same price but so desperate for business. How they make enough money to survive is beyond us.
Luckily we have the pool at the Marina Court Condominium where we are staying as a backup or to fill any spare time or gaps in our agenda.
So far in our return to Asia, we have not had any issues with stomachs/parasites/food poisoning from eating the street food. We are putting this down to eating vegetarian meals but tonight was the night when we stepped into the realm of the unknown and had chicken for dinner. Fingers crossed that the 80p meals don't bring on the movements of a nervous turkey as something that is inside wants to be outside.
