We finally understand what Laos PDR means. Please Don't Rush. We were sat on the bus to Vang Vieng for an hour and 40 minutes before it even moved. So a 4 hour journey turned into 6.
We booked ourselves into Pan's Place and it's always fun trying to figure out where you are when you get dropped off in the town using the tiny map in the Lonely Planet. It's always the first challenge of a new place.
The only other challenge Vang Vieng offered was how drunk you can get and meeting some Irish guys made this very easy to accomplish. A few beers in the hostel with Conor, Ian, Cieron, Luke, Jason and John (3xIrish, 1xScottish, 1xUSA, 1xCanadian) turned into beer pong and the jungle party. Here we met the Baxter and Love combo (Jack and James from Essex) which made the night entertaining. When we say Jungle Party, you would imagine we were in the depths of the jungle but no, just somebody's back yard with a bar and a few trees. Matt rode home on the roof of the Tuk Tuk for the more extreme ride (It was safe....)
A terrible jungle party but with great company it turned into an awesome night.
