Arriving in Cairns I was excited about diving the Great Barrier Reef. After an early night I was up bright and early to board the Passions of Paradise boat for my diving trip to the reef. I completed two dives on the reef, my first dive I saw a small white ripped reef shark as well as a wealth of other marine life on both dives. The food onboard was brilliant and I had a great day. I left Alva Beach in a rush after the diving because of my lift to Townsville taking me instead of the bus, due to the diving being pushed back and managed to forget my food, towel and bikini. Later, whilst travelling on Magnetic Island, I found I'd also lost my phone. After spending a night on the island I went to a wildlife sanctuary on the same site as my hostel. A mammoth journey of 19 1/2 hours on the bus from Rainbow Beach to Airlie Beach wasn't the highlight of my trip. Getting up for the bus after 3 hours sleep and lack of sleep the two previous nights in the Everglades wasn't fun.
