Arrived in saigon yesterday and didnt really do too much spent a few hours looking for a hotel then had just went out for some food and a few drinks. Ended up in this restaurant where you can try 'birds nest' which is prety much what it is, just with some seafood thrown in it...wasnt that good!

Today we went to the vietnam blind association centre where we had massages from the blind students there for something like a pound, it wasnt the best massage in the world but prety good considering the girl was blind, but the money we paid goes into the association to help the blind kids that they support in vietnam. then we went to market and me and dan bought a couple of t-shirts after being dragged into one of the shops by the woman who work there! prety cheap tho about 3 pounds for 2 t-shirts.

After that we went to the american war museum which was amazing. outside the museum they have loads of tanks and planes that you can have a look at which were used in the war. then there is an area telling you about the prison camps and they ways they used to torture prisoners which wasnt really bad, stuff like chiselling out their teeth, whipping them with metal rods with hooks on the end so they ripped their flesh, nasty stuff. Inside the museum were tons of photos taken by photographers during the war which were prety incredible and made me realise just how brutal that war really was and how little i knew about it.

Gonna go out for food now and then a few drinks as usual. tomorrow we are going on a trip to the tunnels near saigon which they built during the war and apparently we get to shoot a machine gun while we are there!
