xin chào (Hello in Vietnamese), It's Monday night and I am at an Internet cafe with Belinda and Tish. In the two days that I have been here we have been to the Cu Chi tunnels, where the Vietnamese hid from the Americans during the Vietnam war. It's amazing to see what people will do to survive when put in that situation. We also went to the War Museum where they have American tanks, airplanes and choppers on display as well as guns used in the war. There are also images of the effects of using chemicals on the Vietnamese which are horrific. Today we went to the Mekong Delta which is a region South-West of Ho Chi Minh City. We boarded a long boat and took a tour along the river which is known for farming and fishing. At the end of the boat ride we stopped off at a local market which included a few suprises that you wouldn't expect to see at your local market in Australia. One of the most interesting things was the frogs which were skinned live. Tomorrow we head to Nah Trang which I think will be a bit of a contrast to Ho Chi Minh City, which has been great so far. Looking forward to a bit of sun and sand action though.
