Had a Gospel tour today in Brooklyn. We met at times square and then had to travel by subway out to Brooklyn. First time on subway but we were in a group so was ok.
Arrived in Brooklyn then had to walk to the church. Walked in and they were singing a gospel song. Was amazing, great sound and the reaction of the people, they get right into it. Then the reverend started talking and their was a lot of amens and praise the lords. Then everyone had to hold hands and pray for things they needed. The reverend then sang a song about how god is the healer of turburcolocus and cataracts and a heap of other diseases.
It then got a bit silly as he started calling people up that god had told him people had certain sicknesses and he healed them by chanting stuff and touching their heads like you see those guys on the tv do, after he cured someones liver and someone's cataracts he then called for everyone that had something wrong with them to come up and just about everyone got up. It would have taken ages to cure them all so I left.
I found my way back to the train station and caught a train to Coney Island.
At Coney Island I walked along the boardwalk a bit, there were heaps of people out on the beach. Weather was really nice today. I then went to Nathan's, there are 2, 1 on the boardwalk and 1 near the station. I got 1 with onions and 1 with chili and cheese with a traditional lemonade. Wasn't bad but nothing special more about the experience.
After this I caught the train back to 39th st. The train system is pretty easy to work out. I had a map and each line has a letter or number.
At 39th st I walked to the Hells Kitchen flea market on 9 th avenue. Bit disappointing as was all second hand junk.
After this I walked over to 12 th avenue and caught boat tour. It was the Liberty tour which was a ferry out to Liberty Island and back. Got some good shots of the skyline and the Statue of Liberty as much nicer day and camera is good.
After this I waked home after another good day.
