Woke up about 6am this morning and feel much better. Weather is also good today and quite warm with sun out.
No tours tour today just going to spend time on the hop on hop off us.
Started with uptown tour, got off at St Marks cathedral which is huge. Tried to light a candle for Grandma and Grandad but they didn't seem to have any available.
Next walked to Toms Restaurant which is the diner used on Seinfeld (well the outside anyway). Had a brunch in there eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. The inside is nothing like Seinfeld, they sell T-shirts and mugs and copies of the menu. Didn't get any but took some photos.
After this I walked into Harlem, very black and just how you would imagine with music and people hanging around in the streets. Not that scary. Went to the Shabazz market, very small and not much there.
After this I walked to the next bus stop which was along the museum strip. Missed the next bus as I was stood in the wrong place so walked to the next one which was at the Guggenheim. Saw the building and then the bus came.
Switched buses to go back downtown so I could catch the Brooklyn bus. This was not hop on but more of a tour so got to drive through Brooklyn and see the sites and hear some history, was pretty good.
After this tour I caught the Staten Island island ferry which is free and goes past the Statue of Liberty. It goes to Staten Island and then you have to get off and the reboard the ferry to come back.
After this I got back on the hop on bus to go back to midtown.
Got something to eat and then back to hotel about 730 pm. Pretty long day but saw a lot and gotta bit sunburnt.
