Had a walking tour of Chinatown today. Got on the Hop on bus and rode that to Chinatown. Tour was pretty good learnt about the history. Went to a herbalist shop I was going to ask for something for psoriasis but didn't think I would get it back into Australia as some of the things were dried human placenta, deer legs and dinosaur bones. Tour ended with a Dim Sum lunch at a restaurant. Was very nice.
After lunch I got back on the hop on bus and took the tour of the older part of town. Didn't get off just rode the bus around the circuit. Got back on the bus back to the wharf and got off at the closest stop to Lombard st and walked the 2 blocks up the steepest hill I have ever been on. I don't know how they live on hills like this I reckon even G&H would get tired of these hills.
Lombard st was great to see. Heaps of people taking photos and walking up and down. The views are amazing. There were also heaps of people driving, there was a traffic jam of people lining up to drive down it. The people that live there must get sick of everyone hanging around but I guess you know what you are getting yourself into.
Walked back to hotel, down the hill this time thank god, I am only about 10 min walk from Lombard st.
Had a rest for an hour or so then went to the baseball. Had to catch a bus across town. Buses are only $2 for about 3 hrs which is pretty good. Took about 45 mins as was peak hour traffic. Followed the crowds to the stadium. My seats were right behind the batter, pretty high up but the front row of the section so really great seats and i only paid $5. Game stated at 7.15 pm and It is a Wednesday night but the crowd is huge and there are kids everywhere.
Game was really good saw a home run and had a hot dog. The ground is really great and looks out over the bay. It was dusk when I got there so I was able to see the sun go down.
I left after the 5th innings as it was already after 9 pm and I reckon the game would have gone to 10.30 to 11 pm. It was also getting pretty cold, bought a cap and a hoodie on the way out. San Francisco Giants were leading 3 - 1. Go giants!
Caught the bus back which was a lot quicker on the way back as no traffic. Wrote this on the bus but lost it so re wrote it.
