We left sunny Sydney and made use of the free internet at the airport. The quick flight to Brisbane wasn't as quick as we thought as Queensland don't change their clocks so we gained an hour flying north, how weird is that.
Brisbane has a pleasant riverside and all the attractions of a big city, we found a couple of geocaches and checked out the route for the Saturday morning Parkrun. For the non runner readers of this blog, Parkruns are international Saturday morning 5km runs and as the name suggests they start from a park. We usually do the Oxford one at Cuttleslowe Park but we wanted to go international, they are very friendly races and aimed at all abilities.
We were staying in an Ibis Hotel suitably located for access to the South Bank Park. The Ibis reputation of small rooms was completely dispelled, the bathroom was nearly the size of our Hong Kong room. So an early night ready for an early start.
