Half a bottle of cough mixture consumed and I managed to sleep a bit better. Not cough free but at least I didn't abandon the tent.
We are a bit indecisive where to go today, so started researching and now have found out that DFDS have suspended Calais to Dover sailings and we will have to go Dunkirk to Dover. Are the roads to Dunkirk going to be congested ? Shall we stay nearer Dunkirk? Toll roads or non toll roads? We kept changing our mind but set off and had to get round the outskirts of Paris which was worse than the M25 but once away from the city we found the quietest motorway which took us up near the coast and was worth paying for. We just opted for a campsite which at 30 euros was nearly double what we usually pay but we have got a very big private pitch and there are lots of facilities although the swimming pool is a bit busy as it's still very hot. There is some thunder in the distance and I think we might be getting wet tonight.
We walked around the village which has a lovely church and selection of very nice houses, but not much else. We opted to eat at the on site restaurant which was very good food even if it didn't look, particularly smart. The Lleft Red Ruby beer was very good - even to Doombar & Atlantic fans!
The temperature is now quite pleasant for sitting outside at 9.30 with the sun just disappearing. I may have to find a jumper for tomorrow's trip home. Can it really be so different it's just a short hop across the channel to England.
