Sorry it's 6 days late but ........HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL So the first good news to tell you is I didn't get sea sick from the boat to ko phangnan whooooooooooo ! It was so much better the slow one and I was fine. We love our new place blue lotus it's really homely here and the people who run it are really nice . We have a lovely little bungalow overlooking the beach with air con me and Lauren are really happy with it . We got told there's a 7/11 20 minute away from our place so we went to walk to it to get some water and food for our room. After nearly 15 minutes there was no signs of even a shop so we turned round and walked back as there are no pavements here and it's was pitch back . We decided we would go in the daylight. So our first real day on this island was great clear skies and full sun . We got chatting to our neighbours who are English also and they told us you can't get around on this island by foot as everything is so far apart you need a moped . So we rented one off pong ( the guy who's runs this resort) and they were right it was more like a 15 minute moped ride to 7/11 . We went out to explore what we could find and we went to have a Look at total wipeout the thailand version . It looked such great fun and me and Lauren's were wetting ourselves at the people falling off every 2 seconds. It was quite expensive and very tiring so me and Lauren decided to not do it and just sit back and watch other people make fools of themselves . We grabbed some food and then headed back to the resort to sit by the beach . Our neighbours invited us to join them and go for afew drinks into haad rin this is were the main clubs / bars are so we went with them to see what it was all about . We had a great night out and really enjoyed it . We Both woke up with slight hangovers so we thought we go and sweat it out on the beach and play bat and ball ......that didn't last long as I was having to run around. We heard about a place called the masons arms . It's a traditional English pub with English food so we had to try it out . It was perfect for our hangovers I had a roast dinner and Lauren had a chicken Kiev . She was so jealous once she saw my roast and wished she had got the same . It was really good I have to say and It made me and Lauren fell much better . It was the jungle party that night and it was meant to be the best party leading up to the actual full moon one so we wanted to go and see what all the fuss was about . We went with our neighbours again and went and pre drunk at her Friends at another resort abit further away. Again it was a great night and made us even more excited for new years eve on the beach . They have been advertising this bikini beach contest since we have arrived here .....so we thought we go and check that out which was in haad rin. The roads leading into haad rin are really really hilly here and you struggle to get up them so you have to make sure you have a Long run up to them. It's quite nerve racking really . The contest was so so funny there were all shapes and sizes and all the blokes we're loving it . During the contest they were giving away prizes . One of the prizes was a ticket to do total wipeout and you had to shout out the answer to his question . It was "what was the name of the boat you arrive on?" I didn't have a clue but Lauren knew it , it was "the queen" so I shouted it out so he could hear and she was right the clever girl. So now we have a free ticket for the place so looks like we're be giving that a go . New Years was a great crack it was the best beach party we've been to .......what i remember of it anyway. We didn't do nothing the next day a lot of sleep and we were very quiet chilling on the balcony . Our last day was spent at total wipeout that was rather challenging and nearly killed me so I took it easy !! It was a lot harder than it looked that was for sure !! We've left ko phangan now and are going to koh tao for abit of snorkelling and beach , before heading back to bangkok then a sleeper train to chang mai . We'll try and update soon but koh Tao is known for bad wifi and they have a lot of electrical problems so we'll try our best. Xxxxx
