It's big hello and merry Xmas from ko samui
Hi everyone hope you all are having the best Christmas chilling out and enjoying some great food with Xmas films . So we have all told you about he dreaded boat but we are over that roller coaster of a journey thank god . We found out its nickname today off someone and it's called "the vomit comet" how strange........ Who would of thought that hey!!
So our first afternoon in samui was a relaxing one, we just had a quick look around the shops and beach and just chilled in the room. We had a little sleep because we still felt abit rough, but when we got up we felt good enough for some dinner.
So we went out onto the strip and searched for some food we went with our friends chris and Judy they met us so we could have a quick catch up . So we found this place called PIRI-PIRI CHICKEN........ We couldn't believe it , it was like a replica of nandos. It even has the same logo of the bird it was fabulous it sorted me and Lauren right out! We were really happy to find this place. It was much more spicy then the England version that was for sure though. We then just went home and got our heads down after a long day.
So our first real day in samui ( our feet on the ground) the weather was quite cloudy so at breakfast we decided it would be a good day to hire out a moped again and go and see some of the sights. Everyone travels by moped here that's just what everyone seems to do you can't believe the amount of them here it's quite unbelievable . Our friends chris and Judy joined us because they love mopeds as well and chris has been here before so he knew his way around , much better for us as we could just follow along and not worry about looking at the map.
So we decided to go south and see the waterfall ( the biggest on the island) 80 metres high and 20 metres wide . We arrived in one piece , of course as I'm a professional ;) we parked up and began trekking . Straight away I was not happy yet again I forgot the bloody mammuts haha , dad you won't be impressed ! On the way through there was elephants just being washed down and fed. Lauren got so so excited I thought she was going to explode I had to calm her down , this was before she even saw the baby one hahaha. So we saw a stool where you could buy a bunch of bananas for a pound. It was quite busy when we got there so we decided to feed them on the way back ........to Lauren's disappointment .
We began the trek to the waterfall (namuang) if you lot want to google it , it was a very challenging trek and the girls were feeling it bless them but we can all say it was well worth the sweat and time. We got to the first part of the waterfall where you could take a dip to cool off . This was lovely and I was straight in no messing . The cavalry decided to join in I didn't tell them how cold it was I let them find out for themselves ........it was bloody freezing . After getting some great pictures and relaxing for abit we carried on up to get to the highest point you can go !! The view was sensational I have never witnessed anything quite like it . It was quite breathtaking and a memory me and Lauren will never forget . It was a moment to just be quiet and take it all in . We got some pictures with our camera the best we can . Our friend chris has one of them massive cameras the ones you see every Chinese person with the big lens ,there something else stunning pictures.
So we began the descend down the waterfall back where we first saw the elephants Lauren was trying to control her excitement but she couldn't get down quick enough. The more walking I done the more I was regretting not wearing my shoes I kept slipping and Lauren found this hilarious and had to keep reminding me ...... Even though she was in her flip flops.
So when we got down we walked over to the elephants to buy our bananas and get some pictures. Lauren was already over to the baby one but it was tied up to the mum and seemed to be unhappy . So we went over to an adult one which was alone and more relaxed and chilled out. We fed the elephant and got some great shots .....all the time I was trying to get closer and closer and then he wanted to play and was putting its big trunk on me , it was so wet I wanted to get away and with that slipped right over on my back ( when your feet go higher than your head like that) . The others couldn't stop laughing . I weren't impressed haha.
The sun started going down so we headed back it cools down quite a lot in the night when there's no sun. We stopped off at a place where there are rocks In the shape of women and mens parts . Becky will know what I mean . The pictures will explain it more, after a long day we got an early night and got some food .
We got up early today and used the rest of our time on the moped and went to THE BIG BUDDHA. It was only a ten minute ride so we felt we should do it and use up the petrol, which seems to last forever here .....wish my car was so economical. Lauren was dying to get on the bike and give it ago so when we got back from our journey at our hotel, I gave her a crash course in riding one . I was bloody nervous letting her go up and down even though it was in a straight line haha. So I ran along side her making sure she was stable. I was like mobile stabilisers...... Just waiting for that moment to let go and see her go off alone . She was really good and was loving it so I think next time I'll teach her turning round haha.
We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool before going out for afew drinks seeing as it was Xmas eve .we want to a place called the arc bar which is the most popular on this island ,it's on the beach and it was really good down there so stayed there for the rest of the time . So Christmas Day we spent it on the beach doing nothing just soaking up the sun and having afew cocktails before heading out for our Xmas dinner .we went to a place called the islander for our dinner is was really nice and exceeded our expectations !! The portions weren't very big but we guessed it wouldn't be but it filled a hole . The owner was a British guy from Southend so we got speaking to him. I cheekily asked for some more Yorkshires as we only got one , and he returned with another two for me ......winner :) .
We didn't do much Xmas night we headed to the beach and went to a chillout bar where there's all been bags on the beach for you too sit and relax . We watched a fire show and just headed back to our hotel . I think Xmas eve was catching up with us both .
It's our last day on ko samui today so were just spending it by our pool and sunbathing . We heading out to do some shopping and see what we can find for eachother as we haven't bought one thing for eachother . We grabbed another moped for afew hours to get around quicker as our place is nearly 30 mins walk from the main shops and bars. The only problem with this hotel.
We're off too ko phangnan now to the party island for new year !!! We're really excited to go there , I went to the chemist today and bought some tablets for the boat and were getting the slow one it's only 30 mins to get there so I hope I'll be alright :) .
Hope you all had a great Xmas and the weathers not too bad in England hahah.
Pictures will follow when we can find a good Internet cafe xxxxx

Mike Staite I’m deeply envious of the elephant encounter but, as an old sailor, would offer some advice about sea-sickness. I’ve never encountered a cure. If you, like Nelson, get it – you’re probably stuck with it but I found Stugeron helpful. For me, the very best place to be was on deck and staring fixedly at the horizon. I also tried to snack continuously from before the rough weather started until after it stopped. If you are driven below, you should immediately find somewhere to lie flat and remain horizontal. I hope that’s helpful. Sea-sickness is bloomin’ miserable and I think Lee must be very brave !
Jamie Yo LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sounds good! Hope you have a good new years party, will have to facetime soon! The pictures you have taken are amazing, so jealous. Stay safe Love Love Jamie
