Done very very little today which has been really nice.
I woke up to find that my ankle had gone down quite a bit as well.
We got down at about 10am and got ourselves a couple of lounging chairs for sunbathing at the the pool. And that's pretty much all we did all day!
We did nip out at one point, and bumped into a few people we'd met in Vang Vieng. One crazy French guy called Craig who we actually met through the Swedish girls. He's a good laugh - think it was the first time we'd seen him sober though. He'd finally escaped Vang Vieng! He was due to go there for a couple of days but spent about 12 days there because he loved the partying that much.
We arranged to see them in one of the bar squares later tonight.
Can't believe how many people we bump into who are on a similar route to us.
Therese got talking to a few girls from Whitley Bay (Beth and Emma) and later in the day we were talking to a few lads from London (Paul, Matt and Liam). Actually, I was snoozing most of the time, and woke up towards the end of the conversation with the lads. All this doing nothing makes you tired...
We went for tea at a street food type restaurant that we'd spotted where the Sunday Market usually is. So cheap, 50 Baht (£1) a meal. Simple meals - Therese had prawn Pad Thai and I had Fried Rice with chicken. Tasty and cheap. Budget is even tighter now after buying the paintings!
The group we were talking to around the pool invited us to meet them in one of the bar/restaurants near our hotel if we fancied it, so we went back to meet them. Had a drink in the Saloon Bar with them first.
There's a big square with bars near our hotel, so we went down there for a few Chang Beers. Nice little area where a lot of backpackers congregate. There's very few girly-boys around too for a change. Had a good time in there, chatting about travelling etc. Played thumb of war with some kids who were out trying to sell stuff. I lost 20 Baht (40p) to him...he was good!
Then there was a couple of guys doing things with fire sticks etc. But one guy had a long pole that was lit either end and he flung it towards our table and it went under Paul's legs! He sort of jumped up and threw it back. Didn't do any damage or anything. The guy was really sorry and gave Paul his cowboy hat and stick so that he could take pictures. I grabbed the hat and stick to have my photo as the fire god, and then the guy came over and the idiot burnt my shoulder! The clumsy fool! Then he asked for tips from us!! You come along and throw a burning stick at us, then burn my arm and you want a tip...
It didn't properly burn me anyway, not even a mark on me. He didn't do much fire stick juggling after that either!
We moved onto the Reggae bar and then into another place where we bumped into Craig again. He's a funny guy - comes out with some really funny stuff! Cool little bar actually, playing funky house music. Stayed in there for a short while and took some daft pictures of Therese...as usual!
The others had gone home a little earlier than us, only about 45 minutes, but we had a really good night with them!
So, not so long after, we went to 7/11 and grabbed a cheese and ham toastie! God bless 24 hour 7/11s selling all kinds of foods to drunks. We went back to the hotel and sat near the pool eating our munch!
Another late one...

Stacey Ola we have had snow over here, and your sat by a pool! Meant to be lots more coming too and getting very cold. Girls have got their sledge ready, just need some snow boots now, and for the snow to settle they will be off up the big hills near us. Hope your both well and Therese I hope Lee has not been doing to much moaning about his bites and swollen ankle lol xxx
Michelle Thought you two were having a break from the booze..haha! That last long!!! Glad the swellings gone down too.OMG how weird is it that you keep bumping into ppl you know...you must know half of the travelling population by now! Enjoy the sun and sunbathing, wish I was there! We might just get away with short sleeved t-shirts in Benidorm though! Lots a love xxxxxx ps. T-Faye had a baby boy this morning, Finilan (I think Katie said that), he was over 9lb xxxxxxxx
