This morning is the start of our road trip! We left our bags in the hostel and headed through the town to pick up our Apollo camper. The camper was a relocation one. The plan was to drive it from Alice springs to Melbourne.
It's $1 per day with $100 off fuel... I was worried that something might happen driving through a desert for 3 days so we got all the insurance bringing the cost to $90 for the 3 days.

We wanted to see 'the town underground' so we decided to make Coober Pedy our stopover. We decided to not stop anywhere for lunch so i made avocado and lettuce butties in our little kitchen whilst lee drove. The road up until Coober Pedy is just desert bush land and road. It was raining so all the little kangaroos came out to see us. At one point there was four kangaroos in the middle of the road. There was a few dead ones. One of the deceased kangaroos had what looked like an eagle eating it! I don't know whether its just me but I've got a fear of the camper breaking down and a vulture chasing me.... The eagle looked like a vulture to me... Aaahhhh
Another thing I'm scared of is a hill billy looking man asking if we need help then chasing us into the desert. Breath, breath. That reminds me! On the drive to Coober Pedy, there were quite a few cars flipped over and rusting. Sometimes the bonnet was open and the engine was gone... My imagination goes wild and Lee doesn't help by telling me stories from films I've chose not to watch.
Anyway we knew we were near Coober Pedy because the flat land started getting Madonna boobs.....
