Well Nong Khai is a beautiful place.

i arrived after a train ride which was very bumpy. The place i am staying in is Mud Dee Lodge and is is so pretty. the lodge is right on the river and in amongst lots of trees so feels really peacefull. the firt day tha i arrived i decided to go on this boat thip that they do at the sun is setting so on i get after finding it and off we sailed. You could eat on the boat if you wanted to but a bit to early for me so had a cold drink instead. we headed away from the Friendship Bridge ( the boarder crossing from thailand in to Laos) we passed a few temples before we turned around and headed back. We passed a rock that was in the middle of the river that had loads of flags on it. not sure why maybe they were trying to claim it. on the way back the sun was setting and it was beautifal it set over the trees and the colours that is made were gourgous. and the temples on the way back changed colour. It was so peacefull and relaxin.

the boat trip took about 1 hour and afterwards was getting peckish so headed up to the bar for dinner green curry yum. I read my book for a while and went to bed have a dorm bed this time and havent met the other people never mind.

I( waker up to find that i was sharing a room with a french man and a German i think but we didnt talk much. The days plan Hire a bike and try and cyicle to the stone carvings that are the other side of town. I went along the river then cut across townit was a nice rida and was mainly flat so good to ride on. the carving were amazing really impressive they were huge the biggest had to be 50-60 foot in the air. some of them are the goddess that has 8 arms and there are huge buddhas an snakes. one part was creapy as you had to walk inside a dragond mouth to get to the centre bit and then inside was qute desterbig carvings , one was of a happy couple holding hands then there was a godess prson then the next carving was exactly the same as the old couple except they were seletons odd.

I rode the bike back in to town where i walk throught the market that sold everything clothes food bikes medicien. lots of stuff. and i found this nice place to have lunch. then i wondered aroud time next thing i know its dinner time so head back to lodge for dinner and it was the best i had a fish and it was the best fish that i have every tasted there wernt that many bones which is usually what puts me off fish. and it was so tender YUM YUM after reading my book a bit more i went to bed. there were a few people about but was to tird to stay up.

Today i have traveled in to Laos and i am in the capital Ventiene It is chinese new year here today and i can hear the music form outside blaring out so off to see what is happening and what is going on tonight. Also had the best shower wver was the first hot shower in 2 weeks i hate cold showers!!! so might have another one tonight and 5tomorrow to stock up on hot showers lol.
