hey all
well i have moved on from hampi i caught an overnight train to Bangalore where i was going to stay for a few nights in the end i stayed only one as i really did not like the place. i went to a market which smelt so bad i had to leave, i dont want to tell you what i saw but it wasnt nic, so i thought i walk to the better side of town were all the shops are and nmeant to be lots of nice resturants, but when i got there hardly anything there and whet there was wasnt any good, so i left. the next day i caught a train to Mysore whih was a lot better.
in my sore there is a grand palace which is very gran, spent the morning walking around there, then the afternoon walking around the huge market full of fruit and veg flowers crafts everything really pretty, mysore is. while i was there there was a festivel not sure what it was for but think it has something to do with Devali a huge festivel in a few days time. there were people dancing in the street to huge drums that were being hit with a lot of power. people were dressed up all very cool.
Ooty was my next stop in the hill so colder and lots of rain had to wear sock to bed as it was that cold. spent the day walking around but limited to how far i could go till the rain hit, but the bus journey to and from ooty was spectacular. tea plantations everywhere and elephant eating on the side of a road (dont get that at home) spotted deer and a few other animals i didnt no. from ooty i thought might as well go to another hill station then work my way down the coast so i went to Munnar adn more rain. i hired a rickashaw and we went all over the hills up and daown round and around, saw lots of tea plantations and spice plantations. elephants breathtaking dams and lakes. all very cool. i have noticed a change in the food since leaving the north a lot more fruity here haveing biriani with currents in it instead of chillis so not so hot now. munna has lots of home made chocolate so had to try soem as well as some local wine, well i say wine but it was more like extra sweet sherry ok one sip but dont think i could drink any more than that, which i am glad that i didnt have to.
now i am in cochinwhich is very pretty city so walking around went to afew temples and churches and walked around the sea wall. this morning i helpped some fishermen pull in there catch they have chines fishing nets looks a bit like a cataupult but is worked so no one can say now that i am lazy and havent done and work for the last 10 months as i have i did some fishing lol.
Kochin is the start of the back waters (lots of canals and rivers all the way south) so in a few days i will leave kochin and head that way see where i end up.
hope you are all well and i will speak to you soon lots of love leanne xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
