This morning I woke at about 6.30 am and had a shower and dressed. I went nfown to the kitchen for breakfast with dad and Zia and then headed off for the day to Venice. I caught the bus and yen to the atrium then took the 10.06 train to Venice. Arrived at about 10.40 am and went
For a quiet walk through the streets. Came across the Jewish quarter, which was really interesting, before
Making my way to Rialto and the St mark's square. Had
An anchovies roll for lunch and then decided to visit the Doge's Placae. Wow! What an experience. The opulence and lifestyle of the ruling classes of the Venetian nobility was amazing to see. Took harping 2 hours to get around, but was thoroughly enjoyable to see. Only wish Sharon was here to see it with menbecause I think she would repair enjoy it. After the palace, I went
For a walk and ended up in Academia, so I went to the Fujiyama tea rooms and had a nice cup of tea. It was most enjoyable. Carlo and OneTwo(?) were there and they remembered me
As
A
Familiar face. It took some
Romping, but they remembered me and Sharon as having been visitors to the B And B. After my tea I wandered through the piazza nearby and stopped for a beer before heading to the station to catch a train back to Padova.
I arrived back in Padova at about 6.30 pm and went to catch a tram. Missed the first one and then landed at Zia's place at around 7.15 pm.
Alessandro and Andrea, Rosanna's sons were here and we spent some
time
Chatting to them. We had a late dinner (about 8.30) before Roberto, Roberta and Dario arrived for a chat and a visit. They finally went home at 11.45 pm and I caught up on my blogging before heading off to bed. A very weary little soldier!
