With the worst weather of the week today, we stayed a little closer to Newport with a trip to Dundee and Glamis Castle.
Dundee was nice and Broughty Ferry on the outskirts afforded great views of the River Tay and Newport across the river. We went to Tescos which was like a big Target and Coles combined it was so big and had so much in it!! And best of all I found vegemite!
After lunch we headed to Glamis Castle, the Queen Mother's childhood home. It is a grand old place, the history beautifully preserved. It is covered in glorious old furniture and paintings as well as great photos of the Queen Mother as a child, later with the King and her visits in old age. It also has lovely photos of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret as children.
We again drove through lovely Scottish countryside seeing yummy strawberry farms and beautiful towns such Blairgowrie where Marjorie grew up.
