we arrived in Brisbane to cloudy skies and rain and trudged up the road to Chill backpackers where we were staying. it was very nice and clean we described as a posh backpackers hotel. the weather ruined our first day so we weren't overly impressed at first.

the next day the weather was better and we met Chris and Tina who we were in the Whitsundays with and we had a lovely walk around the lagoon, market and river front. it was very nice and helped change our opinion of Brisbane.

the next day we wandered round the shops again and met Chris for a coffee. we then went to the art gallery because we are very intellectual and appreciate culture. that evening we went for dinner with Chris and Tina as it was our last night in Brisbane.

the following day before we left Lauren got a bargain. she had a full head of foil highlights at Toni & Guy for $40 as she was a colour model, it overran a bit and we had to change our greyhound time but in the end lauren no longer has roots and we got to surfers in the end so it all worked out for the best
