Discovered that earplugs and eyemask's are essential in the van as lots of light gets in because one of the side doors and the backdoor are both missing curtains! So we use makeshift curtains of towels and blankets (stolen off the plane from fiji), sounds also become very aparrent, especially if its windy, which it really is in new zealand.
We couldn't decide what to do for the day so we decided to go to the zoo, definetly one of my favourite things to see in life, animals. And how lucky we were, the first thing we saw was the beautiful 3 lions you see in the picture keeping each other warm and having cuddles as they slept. Definetly a one in a lifetime thing to see, just a shame it wasnt in the wild. The weather however was definetly not on our side, the morning was cold and windy, but as the afternoon drew in, the rain struck, the thing was alot of places werent undercover so it consisted of alot of running from place to place. In the end we had to stop to avoid the torrential downpours that were currently ensuing.
After the rain we decided not to head south straight away due to conditions so we found a nice but not exactly cheap campsite outside of Auckland, it was pretty busy but people were nice, one guy decided to try and lecture josh about manchester united etc. I think something to say there is dont try lecturing someone who has supported a team for multiple years about there team!
We tumbledried most of our clothes which seems to be something happening alot at the moment either to dry them out or to warm them up! Planning the next few days is on the agenda tonight...thinking heading south is the right idea :)
