Carrying on from where Lozza left of a few days ago, we've spent the last 5days visiting theme parks, water parks and zoo's. Also Brisbane!
The day after sea world we visited wet n wild which was about 20km's down the road and the start of a stretch of road full of parks.
We have a wet n wild back in the north east but as this one was outdoors and sunny it's better. Mainly because you don't freeze your balls off waiting to get on a slide. A water park is a water park at the end of the day, but all the same it's a lot of fun throwing yourself down slides which have a near vertical drop. There was one slide that Lozza refused to go on despite all my best efforts. I tried to explain how fun it was but she had none of it. You had to stand in a pod, then after a certain amount of time the floor would just drop away. Soooo good.
Right next door to wet n wild was Movie world so we camped up in a caravan park opposite set our alarms and waited for morning. Ohhh, and had a few beers.
I must admit I wasn't really looking forward that much to movie world, well I didn't really know what to expect. When we got there though it was absolutely amazing. The whole park was set up like a film set. With characters from varies movies walking around the town. Firstly we popped into see a 4D movie(4D is like 3D but the chairs move and it squirts water and air at you) as it was just about to start, Lozza was extremely happy as we were first in the queue for it. She thinks that's the first time she's ever been first in the queue for anything…. Feels free to refresh her memory if you know otherwise.
After the movie we went and hit the rides, feeling like it was a movie park again I wasn't really expecting to be dazzled. Again I was wrong. So after nearly a full day of riding rollercoasters I felt very sick so we went back to the caravan park. (same caravan park, as again the next theme park was next door).
The day after we hit the theme park called dream world, which is part theme park, part zoo and part water park. Pretty big place. We were there and in pretty early. So before the rest of the crowds flocked in we decided to hit the rollercoasters first as the previous couple of days we had a few queues.
In that first hour I think we hit every single ride imaginable. Some very stomach chernable and again my granite stomach became sick. So we went and played laser tag. That itself was very fun because I got to shoot lots of Chinese.
We visited the small zoo after that and Lozza (which I do hope you are all calling her now) got to hold and cuddle a Koala bear. Didn't stop grinning after that all day. It was very adorable though.
We saw a lot of native wildlife, like kangaroos, crocodiles, wombats, dingos and on and on. Once we'd finished in the zoo it left us a couple of hours to go play in the water park. We got there, changed into our bathers road a couple of slides and then said to each other it's too cold for this(it was 28 degrees). So got changed back into clothes and went back to the theme park. There I looked at a spinning ride and felt sick again, it was nearly closing time so we decided to hit the road as we were due to drive upto Brisbane and didn't know how far or how long it would take.
20 minutes later we were there. Shortest drive ever in Australia.
We checked into a caravan park in Brisbane and asked the girl at reception what would be a good thing to do that evening. She pointed to a postcard on the wall it was a night time view of the Story Bridge lit up, as its getting dark outside go for a river cruise. So we did, via KFC as we were famished. Lozza is a good person to share a KFC bucket with as she only ate 3 bits, which left 7 for me. I was stuffed, but onwards to the cruise we went. Very pretty it was too. The cruise took us along the river through the CBD past all the lit up high rise buildings and to the bridge all lit up in different colours. Then back. All in all possibly a couple of hours. Lovely way to end the day.
Day two in Brisbane we ventured into the city, we had planned what we wanted to do so went out on a mission. River walk, cliff walk and city walk all done and went and visited the lovely old building dating back to the 1880's. Lozza again took lots of photo's so when we get some more powerful internet than what we have, we'll be able to put them up.
Id say about 20kms later and very very sore feet we made it back to the campsite, and to reward us for the hard days walking we'd done decided to go out for a meal, mainly because neither of us could muster the energy to cook.
Sat down at a very lovely Thai restaurant with a nice window view, and there appears a giant huntsman spider from behind the curtain. Lozza without panicking too much (I think) nudges me and says spider. Soooooo Dave-o "the Brave-o" as I'd like to be called kindly escorted it outside to the nearest tree. As modesty is my middle name I sat back down a shied away from all the applause and high fives. As it is what any testosterone fuelled man would do. I would just think of myself as there hero to all those people in there.! Haha
The next couple of days we have the Glass mountains and Australia zoo planned, so I am sure Lozza will be back in touch, and to go over my blog with anything I have deemed not worthy to go in mine.
Lots of love to everyone.
