In the last blog I forgot to mention that we paid Bundaberg a visit. The drive to Bundaberg was very pleasant; the road flattened out, the soils were tinged red and there were sugarcane farms either side of the road. After Brisbane we headed an hour north to The Glass House Mountains where we spent the day roaming around and climbing mountains which were the remains of old volcanic plugs. On Monday we were in Byron Bay so we had a nice chilled out beach day. Byron itself has got a hippie vibe so it's an easy place to relax, it caters well for the tourists and backpackers but without over commercialising the town and ruining its hippie vibe.
