This week has been a quieter one than last week. Having got back to Melbourne from the Great Ocean road I had some planning to do. I found myself wondering what's next...
First the tennis. With Ash an English girl who I was sharing a dorm with we decided to go down to the Melbourne tennis open, the atmosphere was awesome and the city was buzzing... Great time to be in Melbourne. We sat down with a few drinks to watch the games on a big screen, a few more English voices seemed to be around and things felt familiar.
Then it was time to say goodbye to the space hotel in Melbourne, which had been my first hostel in the heart of Melbourne CBD. It was sad to leave as I had made some good friends: Fellow Canterbury teachers, Jo and Harriet as well as my road buddies Hagen, Fabi and Tobi, :( I was so grateful to meet such friendly, adventurous people for my first road trip. (Even if they did all support Bayern Munich) Then I set off to st kilda by the beach. This was pretty cool because there seemed to be a bigger backpacker vib here and being next to the beach was a bonus. This is when the weather took a turn, apparently it's also been on the news in the UK, but it was about 44 degrees in Melbourne and it felt it! Luckily as I sat in the shade, book in one hand and coconut drink in the other....I just about survived!
Since being in St Kilda I have just been chilling out on the beach and planning ahead for Sydney. I know it sounds silly but: setting up my Aussie bank account, booking hostels and flight, sorting out phone contracts takes up more time then you think. A few more days chilling by the beach and then my adventure to Sydney will begin!!! #excited! There so many things I can't wait to see:
Opera house
Bondi beach
Manley beach
Harbour bridge, just to name a few.
Anybody wondering about photos, my iPad is not yet compatible with my camera but I am in the process of buying an adaptor so will upload some when I have done so.
Miss you all
