Today Dave and I planned to go to the beach - a 2 minute walk from the hotel! Chris was still suffering with his sunburn so decided to stay inside out of the sun, but we arranged to meet him at lunchtime in the bar for some food.
At the beach we picked a spot in the shade, under some palm trees loaded with coconuts which looked like they could fall on our heads at any time - a bit scary but we didn't want to be in the sun! The beach was beautiful and very peaceful - not very many people around, just a few other sunbathers and the odd couple walking past having a stroll. The water was lovely again, but not as clear as the beach in Koh Phangan where we could see our feet and all the fish very clearly! It was lovely and relaxing though - noone trying to sell you stuff and no screaming kids!
Back at the bar, Chris treated us to dinner and then he headed back to Fisherman's Village to try and do some shopping, while we headed back to the beach. In the late afternoon some local women waded into the sea in front of us, fully clothed and with fishing rods and nets - must be a good time of day to catch fish, and it made for some good photos for us!
We were trying to save money so that night we stayed in the bar to eat, hoping to watch the Middlesbrough v Leeds match. Unfortunately, it wasn't shown on any of the sports channels they had, so we went up to the room to pack ready for our early pick-up to go to Krabi tomorrow. Chris followed the score on the internet - Boro lost 2-0 so they weren't that bothered about missing it!
