Today was Laura's 26th birthday! We got up at 8:30 and filled up on the free breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast and pancakes! Laura checked Facebook and email to read all of her birthday messages, and couldn't believe how many she had - thanks everybody! On the bus to the zoo, Laura opened her card from me and was suitably impressed! We had a fantastic day at the zoo looking at all of the animals (too many to mention here...we'll fill you in when we get back!) ...

Today was a guy called Carter's birthday. His nickname was Mississippi as that's where he's from and he has a very strong accent (think Forest Gump!). Anyway, he was 26 today which made him 2 days older than me! We didn't end up seeing much of him though, even though we had planned to celebrate both of our birthdays. We managed to get up a bit earlier today, after our early night, so we decided to hire bikes for the day. The hostel hires them out for $10 a day, whereas it's more like $25 down at the beach. I had my eye on a pink one (of course!) but the French lady whio owned the hostel showed me that the seat was too high and she couldn't lower it. We both felt a little delicate this morning so we slept in late, I even missed the free breakfast! After phoning home to catch up, we made our sandwiches and headed for the beach - no better way to cure a hangover!
