We must have turned the alarm off this morning because we slept in a lot later than we intended to. Once we'd gotten sorted we set off to the bus stop to get the bus in to town as its cheaper than paying for parking all day! Sunshine had recommended us a place to go for brunch, just off Cuba Street where we went last night so we decided to try it out, I had a breakfast burrito and Adam had soup and salmon. The breakfast burrito was so huge I couldn't even finish it despite how hungry I was! In Dukes they had board games to play whilst you ate or had your coffee etc. Adam decided to teach me how to play chess, I managed to grasp the moves that all the pieces can make and how to set the board up but Adam whooped my ass! We decided that if we saw a cheapy chess board whilst we were out we'd get one for the camper. After brunch we went for a wander around town, it was windy and raining and the warmest thing I have with me is a hoodie!! Adam advised me that it's going to be a lot colder the more south we go so I decided to buy some warmer clothes from an outdoor store. I got a fleece, a body warmer, some gloves, a hat and a thermal base layer. Adam also got a hat and a thermal base layer. We spent about 2 days budget on all of the stuff but at least we'll be warmer!! We spent the afternoon just pottering around town, looking in shops, getting coffees and drinks. We found a pub that had a special offer on a steak pie and a glass of red wine for $15 so we went there about tea time and had that, I wasn't as hungry as I thought I was so didn't finish it. It was nice though! After we'd eaten we went to try and figure which buses would go by our campsite, we managed to figure it out and headed back. We wanted to watch some of the Olympics so we went to the campsite bar and watched some in there and played cards. The girl behind the bar was telling us how good the National Museum, Te Papa, was. Sunshine had recommended it to us but Adam wasn't keen on going but since someone else had recommended it we said we'd give it a shot tomorrow. The bar closed at 10pm so we decided to go to the TV room where we ate last night on the campsite. By this time we were peckish so we had some soup and bread and watched the triathlon. Because there was two brothers from Leeds tipper for Gold and Silver medals, we watched the entire triathlon, one of the brothers got a penalty for going over a line on his bike where he should have been walking so one of them got Gold and the other Brownlee brother still managed to get Bronze even with a 15 second penalty! After the triathlon we headed to bed.
