Day 9: we had to get up super early for our 6:20 bus. It took 5 hours to get to our change over where we swapped from the Ecuador to a Peruvian bus. At the bus stop it was very busy so we all went inside, put our bags together and took it in turn to go to the bathroom. Tobias had left his stuff outside the circle and during a change over of people, one man distracted us all and other man took Tobias' day-pack. After we realised it was too late and he'd gone! We looked on CCTV and could see exactly what happened, the police were then called so a report could be made. The police said if we explained what happened then they would let Tobias through the border, however when we got there they did not. Tobias has had to get a 12hour bus back to Quito and get a new passport from the German embassy. Hopefully he will met up with us in a couple of days!
The rest of us missed the bus whilst waiting for Denis to return from the bus terminal with Tobias so we had to get a 2 hour taxi to Mancora from the border.
When we arrived at the hotel we couldn't believe that it was actually on the beach! The sea is less than 100yards from our room. We went out for dinner in the town and then to a bar on the beach, where it was happy hour all night.
