Since my last post I've flown to Perth, enjoyed shrivelling in the ocean, got a little colour in my cheeks, melted in the heat and toured the famous Margaret River wine country.
I've started to relax into my holiday and have already picked up an Aussie 'ah' which I start every sentence with - apologies I'll try and stop this before I journey home.
At Heathrow I survived a close call when the check-in screen flashed up DO NOT BOARD THIS PASSENGER - thankfully it was a visa issue which was quickly resolved but made my ticker go as I was worried about jetting off before the snow hit - man was I right to be worried. It's on every news report and I've seen many cute pics of people enjoying the snow. Fingers crossed you all get some more snow days, I won't feel quite so bad about my galavanting!
Top 10 highlights on this leg of the adventure so far:
1. Catching up with Brookes & meeting her friends & new beau
2. Margaret river wine tour, including brewery (see pic of me & my paddle of beer), cheese factory and chocolate factory visits - Silvano our guide was ace
3. Quantity of chips (fries) that I've consumed
4. Beach & ocean visits, although slight fear of shark attacks & jelly fishes
5. Playing tennis & watching Aus open on the TV as its happening
6. Lime milkshake on Busselton jetty - v tasty
7. That it's ok to shorten everything (eg McDonalds is shortened to Maccas)
8. Cheddarmite scrolls (vegemite and cheddar rolls) - yum, yum
9. TEDs (beer)
10. Number of films I saw on the plane (5 I think)
Cannae wait to head off to Melbourne and catch up with Eleisha, Lisa and watch the tennis - look out for me on your screens on Weds! If you've got any suggestions about what my signs should say give me a shout...
Ah (see I told you about the habit) and the Western Australia wave in the title refers to the wave you adopt to get rid of all the flies, not attractive at all!
Take care, I'm off to watch the tennis before my flight gets called ;)
