G'day! Well, this is our penultimate day in Darwin, on Sunday morning at 6.30 am we set off on a 9 day adventure tour towards Broome. We are really looking forward to this as we have seen most of the sights that Darwin has to offer and can't wait to start our journey down the west coast towards Perth. On Wednesday, we caught the no. 5 bus out of Darwin to the Crocodylus Park and Zoo, it wasn't as spectacular as we had imagined it to be but was still worth the visit. We saw jumping crocs at feeding time and got to hold a baby crocodile! Yesterday, we hired a couple of bicycles from the hostel and cycled to the George Brown Botanic Gardens and then on to the Northern Territory Museum and Art Gallery. The museum actually turned out to be much more interesting than we thought it would be, with lots of information about the dangerous creatures of Australia, including plenty of stuffed examples! There was also an area about Cyclone Tracy which almost completely destroyed Darwin in 1974 and a section about Aboriginal history featuring lots of Aboriginal artwork. From there we cycled the coastal path back to Darwin seeing some wonderful views of the Darwin coast. We had planned to get up early this morning to go to a place called Aquascene where everyday fish swim in to be hand fed by visitors. However, when we woke this morning there was heavy rain and plenty of clouds in the sky so we decided to give it a miss until tomorrow morning.Tonight we plan to go to the deckchair cinema, so hopefully the rain stays off!
