Hello we have finally left Melbourne (and the park) and got our arses into gear and headed to Sydney and its pretty damn groovy.
On our first day we decided to do all the touristy stuff and headed into the botanical gardens (we feel so at home in the park) but not before finding much amusement in the fact we are staying in an area called Wooloomooloo. Walking through the botanical gardens we came across a mass of spider webs with some beasty looking blue and orange spiders which freaked us out a little so we took some pics and ran away. We got to Macquires point and it was amazing walking around the corner and being confronted with the sight of the opera house and the bridge. Even though we have seen so many pictures of them it was still really amazing to see them for real and the bridge was huge. As we were trying to take photos we got grabbed by some asian men who all wanted to have their photo taken with us for some random reason so we just stood there looking beamused! After finally getting to take some pictures of our own we walked through the botanical gardens which run along the harbour and were really stunning. The trees in the parks were filled with flying foxes which were so cool!
We then walked up to the opera house itself and took even more photos before wondering through circular quay where all the ferries leave and all the cool swanky people go for wine with a view. However we couldnt afford anything along the harbour so we headed into the city centre for one of our trusted cheap ass food courts. After filling our bellies with chinese we headed back to the harbour and walked over the bridge which gave us a fine old view of the superboat grand prix that was going on in the harbour (we had no idea what it was until two days later).
After the bridge we hopped on the train and headed for bondi beach to hang out with the cool and beautiful people, naturally we fit right in with our pale pasty bodies and chocolate cake bellies. After a short stroll along the beach and a paddle in the arctic waters we headed back to the city to take some sunset photos of the opera house which was amazing!
Day two we spent wandering around the city and had a quick mooch around the museum for free because it was about to close! We are now in the blue mountains with only 5 minutes of internet time left so we cant tell any more about the cockroch infested flea pit we stayed in whilst in sydney. The blue mountains are really stunning and the hostel is more like a hotel so we may try and hide in the toilets for a few days and see if any one notices! Will be in touch soon as long as we dont get eaten/lost on our bushwalk tomorrow take care xxx
